IPSA Buenos Aires Congress July 15-20, 2013 Photo Gallary

Dear Power Studies Colleagues RC 36 organized 7 excellent panels on powers across a diversity of issues. A great time was had by all. The group dinner at George’s Seafood on the harbor was the social highlight. A list of the panels can been seen below. We would like to thank all of the power scholars who traveled so near and far (mostly very far) to make this a great success. Giulio and Alina RC36 Panels – Call for Papers

RC36 ran seven panels at the World Congress, focusing on the following themes: Approaches to Political Power; Power and Governance; Soft Power of the BRICS; Rising Powers: Balancing and Rebalancing Strategies; Power and Deliberative Democracy; Power, Conflict and Legitimacy; and The Centrality of the Marginal: Governance and Client Agency in African Neopatrimonial Contexts. All of the sessions were very well attended, with the papers stimulating lively discussion that continued between panels. RC36 discussing ‘Hard, Soft, Smart, Three and Four-Dimensional power’ RC36 had ten excellent sessions during the World Congress in Madrid, and there was great synergy between the panels. A special thanks to the Chairs, Discussants, Presenters, and of course, those who attended the panels and contributed to the sustained and stimulating discussion throughout the Congress.
